Baku, Fineko/abc.az. "Wonderful" power cuts in capital of Azerbaijan,  which is net exporter of oil, gas and energy, have been continued since morning on February 5. Today all Baku has been disconnected from power supply approximately in the midday.

In accordance with  the statement of the national power operator Azerenerji OJSC, the problem is connected with disconnection in the Absheron high-tension power transmission line (PTL). It was possible to abolish in an expeditious manner failure in PTL and to restore power supply of Baku.

“Presently, reasons for breakdown in PTL are being found out,” it was informed.

It should be noted that because of the failure even the Baku underground has stopped and Sumgait city has lost power supply as well. Before this failure  without substantial reasons half of Baku city has lived without light on February 5-7, when frost fell to 5 degrees in the city. Today it is much warmer in Baku, but the city, for the first time in its modern history,  is deprived of  energy in full.
