Azerbaijan’s energy operator to invite up to 10 banks for tender for advisor for international rating assessment

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s national energy operator Azerenerji OJSC is ongoing preparation for choice of international rating agencies to assess its international rating.

Azerenerji has reported of completion of consideration of request of proposal from banks for the rating advisor.

“On its basis we will send out invitations to 8-10 banks for participation in the selection. We expect that the final bids will be submitted by up to 5 organizations and our choice will be made among them,” Azerenerji said.

Earlier Azerenerji defined itself with those agencies with which it will begin work on international rating assessment. In Azerenerji’s short-list of international agencies are in particular Fitch and Standard & Poor’s.

Already this January Azerenerji planned consultations with them about organization of its rating assessment process. In parallel Azerenerji expresses an interest to draw consulting services of the Asian Development Bank on rating assignment process.

At the 8-10 December London investment summit Azerenerji will conduct both its own presentation and negotiations with international rating agencies Fitch, Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s on the subject of its history’s first international rating assessment.

For that the Company has everything, including annual international audit for 10 years.

Earlier the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan was awarded international rating at the level of sovereign rating of Azerbaijan.
