Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Today in Baku Samsung Electronics has presented a new "clever" TV set- Smart TV.

Head of Samsung Electronics’s Baku office Jay Hi-Chan has reported that the company first produced the TV set connected with Internet in 2007 and improved its developments in this sphere for the last few years.

"As a result we presented advanced smart-TVs on the basis of new integrated Smart Hub service at  the market. The innovative solution joined in itself Internet@TV’s advantages with new interactive opportunities. Smart TVs have such functions as Samsung Apps, Search All Social TV, Allshare and Internet browsers",- he noted.

In Chan’s words over 2 million of this TV models were sold in a short time.

Representative of Samsung Electronics’s audio-visual equipment department for CIS countries Dmitri Novikov has told Fineko/abc.az that Unix system which does not suffer much hype on writing viruses and hacking attempts has been installed to the TVs to provide information security and personal information protection from unsanctioned access through Internet or Skype.

"Besides the TV sets have parent control function which enables to set password for different undesirable sites. As for Skype, it also has rather protected platform which hackers failed to break into. One can watch films and simultaneously communicate in social networks through the TV , search for all available network devices through DLNA connection",- he noted.

According to D. Novikov Smart-TVs transmit high-definition video (HD) while communicating in в Skype and  breaking it which is almost impossible, one can observe the room where the TV is.

"To watch video and communicate through Skype at best resolving capacity it is necessary to have guaranteed speed of Internet connection at least 2 Mbit/s and as for other functions of TV it is necessary to have guaranteed Internet speed at least 1 Mbit/s to use them. The volume of TV processor’s memory is 2 Gb, 50% of which is used for built-in applications and there is possibility to record up to 100 applications more. Camera for Skype should be purchased separately and it will appear in our shops in the next 2-3 weeks ",- D. Novikov added.
