Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan Insurers Association of (ASA) has determined itself for plans for 2012.

ASA executive director Azer Aliyev says that in compliance with the 2-year strategy approved in early 2011, under which the Association is building its activities, ASA should make a serious focus on issues of propaganda of insurance and implementation of activities that promote to the level of knowledge among employees of insurance companies.

"That is why our plans for 2012 will be fully focused on realization of tasks in issues of insurance propaganda and education, even more in educational matters," Aliyev said.

He added that next year it will also be carried out a contest for insurers and an international insurance forum, as they had become the norm for the market.

"These are the events that have become a tradition. The only thing we need now to do is to continue to improve the format of their holding and make them more interesting for all participants. We understand that our market needs more events, where participants could get more information about insurance. So now we think about conducting several conferences on insurance," Aliyev said.

As for ASA activities in 2011, Aliyev said that if to evaluate it on a 5-point scale, then it would be possible to give a firm "four" to it.

"Actually it has been done a lot, but even more should be done further. There were several key events: Conference on Insurance; Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum (AIIF); Olympiad for Insurers, and, of course, the events dedicated to the promotion of Azerbaijani insurance market in Baden-Baden," Aliyev said.

In 2011, the International Insurance Company, which became the main sponsor of the AIIF, insurance Olympiad and the Days of Azerbaijan in the international insurance forum in Baden-Baden, left the Association’s Supervisory Board. The reduction of participation level in the financing of ASA was linked with the fact that the Association did not become a real public association of insurers. And first and foremost ASA will have to cope with this crisis of confidence to itself in 2012.
