Baku, Fineko/abc.az. This January –February Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector kept its status of economy “engine”: rise in it exceeded general economic growth 14.2-fold versus 94 fold for entire  2011.

The Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee informs that by 1st March 2012 country’s non-oil GDP totaled AZN 3.412 bn that is by 7.1% more versus the January-February  2011 indicator.

At that, for the reported period country’s overall GDP totaled AZN 8.001 bn with rise of 0.5%.

In February non-oil GDP (AZN 1.555 bn) was equal to 39.8% of overall GDP and in January-February- 42.6% of overall GDP versus 48.3% for 2011.

Exchange rate by early March 2012 was AZN 0.786 to the US dollar. According to this rate, non-oil GDP still reaches $4.341 bn in 2012 against $30.729 bn in 2011.
