Parliament Speaker : Azerbaijan already forms over 80% of South Caucasus GDP

Baku, Fineko/ Azerbaijani Parliament discusses the country government’s report of its activity in 2011.

In the course of discussion Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov noted that in 2011 Azerbaijan GDP reached $62,4 bn which made over 80% of South Caucasus countries’ aggregate GDP.

" Directing oil revenues for development of non-oil sector in task-oriented way, the country government creates new industrial spheres, which facilitates establishment of new industrial enterprises in the regions and creation of jobs. Last year aggregate volume of Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with 149 countries of the world made $36,3 bn which is by $8.4 bn more than in 2010. In 2011 rise of population’s income made 20% compared to 2010. Taking into account military emergency experienced by our country , the country government keeps development of defense industry in the centre of attention. Compared to 2010 ,  military goods’ production in our country doubled last year ",- O. Asadov said.
