We welcome the investment in all areas, and I am very pleased that the current investments are made in tourism and hotel sector. Four 5-star hotels have been opened in Baku over the last year alone and another two 5-star ones will open in the coming months. I think this is unique case in the history of the region. Within 1-1.5 years the country’s capital has been opened six 5-star hotels. I am sure that these six 5-star hotels will not be enough for us. As the development of our country, our city is so rapid, the number of those who desire to come to Baku is growing so fast that I think there is a great need for construction of hotels in the future as well,” President Aliyev said.
The President also focused on the development of the tourism potential of the country’s regions.
"5-star hotels are also being built in the regions of Azerbaijan. Shahdagh winter & summer ski center will open at the end of this year. Currently, there is built a few five star hotels. I want Azerbaijan to become one of the major tourist centers of the region and the world. There possibilities for that,” he added.
