Baku, Fineko/abc.az.  By Decree from 4 April President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has changed direction of activity of State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents and its structure.

Under the decree , 3 Services will be created under the State Committee- State Control Service on Technical Regulation and standardization ( on the basis of the Committee’s territorial control administrations), State Metrology Service (on the basis of National Metrology Center) and State Accreditation Service. The President also approved new structure of State Committee on Standardization and regulations of new state services.

Due to the changes the number limit of State Committee Apparatus’s employees has been determined at 112 staff units, employees of Apparatus of State Control Service on Technical Regulation and standardization- 60 staff units, its territorial administrations- 98 staff units, State Metrology Service Apparatus- 40 staff units, State Accreditation Service Apparatus- 22 staff units.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan has been charged to solve the issues connected with financing and provision of activity of State Committee Apparatus and the agencies subject to it within a month, and submit the draft law " On Accreditation ", proposals on bringing legislation in compliance with the decree, provide bringing legal acts in such compliance within 3 months. The Cabinet is also tasked to keep under control bringing of legal acts of Executive Power’s central bodies in compliance with the decree, and solve other issues following the decree.

Justice Ministry of Azerbaijan has been charged to provide bringing legal and normative acts of Executive Power’s central bodies in compliance with the decree and inform the Cabinet of Ministers of it.

State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents has been ordered to provide efficient work conduction in certification sphere due to abolition of territorial approbation and certification departments under it, conduct accreditation of certification bodies, take necessary measures to organize activity of Committee Apparatus and the departments under it.
