Baku, Fineko/abc.az. As of 9 April over 20.000 POS terminals were registered in Azerbaijan. They have been also installed by foreign banks- JP Morgan Chase and Standard Bank London.

Tax Ministry of Azerbaijan reports that , the agency keeps on taking measures jointly with Central Bank and the country’s other banks on cashless payments stimulation, including installation of POS terminals at trade and other points.

«Aiming to accelerate the process of POS terminals installation in 11 districts, Baku has been divided into 60 sections. Tax bodies’ employees provide technical and legal assistance to taxpayers on site ",- the report says.

The report also says that if earlier it was possible to register 15-20 POS terminals daily, the figure has been brought to 300-400 devices now. Also, aiming to accelerate registration process of POS terminals relevant software is applied jointly with processing centers and POS terminals are registered in online regime.

" Due to these measures, over 20.000 POS terminals were registered in the country as of 9 April, 18.604 terminals or 93% accounts for presently operating terminals of Baku. As of 1 February this figure made 11.933 POS terminals and 11.156 of them accounted for Baku",- the report says.

Tax Ministry of Azerbaijan has also presented the list of acquirer- banks with active POS terminals in the agency’s information base throughout all the republic :
