Baku, Fineko/abc.az. For Jan-Mar 2012 Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector kept its status of economy “engine”: rise in it exceeded general economic growth 15.4-fold versus 94 fold in 2011.

The Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee informs that by 1st April 2012 country’s non-oil GDP totaled AZN 4.999 bn that is by 7.7% more versus the Jan-Mar 2011 indicator. At that, for the reported term country’s overall GDP totaled AZN 12.289 bn with rise of 0.5%.

This March non-oil GDP (AZN 1.587 bn) was equal to 37% of overall GDP and for Jan-Mar 2012 - 40.7% of overall GDP versus 48.3% for 2011.

Exchange rate by early April 2012 was AZN 0.7863 to the US dollar. According to this rate, non-oil GDP still reaches $6.358 bn in 2012 against $30.729 bn in 2011.
