Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani Copyright Agency has presented National Strategy on Intellectual Property Protection in accord with the concept of State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The Agency Chairman Kamran Imanov has reported that World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has stressed importance for accelerating work on national strategy adoption in intellectual property sphere.

"After introduction of supplements, the document reflects problems of intellectual property sphere, including measures of fighting against productions and sale of pirate products, etc. The strategy consists of 30 purposeful directions, joining about 90 specific measures in this sphere. The strategy should also reflect direction of industrial property. In this connection conceptual document should be prepared which in turn will require coordination of work in this direction with other relevant state bodies. The Commission created jointly by Azerbaijan Copyright Agency and State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents should deal with these issues ",- he said.

According to K. Imanov Azerbaijan can become one of the first countries in the world, which will adopt long term strategy on intellectual property protection.
