Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is participating in international conference "Introduction of satellite navigation systems in global navigaiton" being held in Riga.

The Institute of Information Technologies of Azerbaijan of the National Academy of Sciences reports that at the conference the country is represented by Institute’s director Rasim Aliguliyev.

The event is sponsored by the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems and the European Space Agency, the Government of Latvia and the Office for Outer Space Affairs.

The main objective of the conference to last until 18 May is discussion of the prospects of introduction of global navigation satellite systems, the current situation in this sphere, human resource development on the use of such systems, consideration of appropriate technologies and promotion of cooperation in this field.
