Baku, Fineko/abc.az. At the initiative of the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan by two or more POS-terminals are installed at commercial facilities within the framework of promoting non-cash payments in sales and service network.

The Ministry reports that there are 30,940 active POS-terminals at 26,443 facilities currently, and 93.7% or 28,976 of them are operating in Baku.

Within the Taxes Ministry’s campaign only GPRS-terminals are installed in sales and service network that removes the stringent requirements for communication channels and enables to provide a POS-terminal to any merchant, including, for example, a pizza delivery man. The presence of a dial up terminal at the facility is not an obstacle for installation of also a GPRS-terminal. At that, the Ministry welcomes if one object has POS-terminals of different banks.
