Intellectual Transport Management Center summarized results of its activity in May
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Intellectual Transport Management Center created for regulation and elimination of transport problems in Azerbaijan to prevent traffic jams in the capital streets and roads, has started application of "green wave" effect. This principle mainly covers central streets and avenues of Baku city. The center reports that intensity indicator on the capital roads for the first two weeks of this month demonstrated certain rise against February indicator. That considerably reduced idling time in traffic jams and ensured free flow of vehicles. " According to statistic indicators, registered in Bakikhanov street on workdays of February, average speed of cars was 22 km/ h and their number made 22.225 units. Average speed of cars in the first couple of weeks in May made 43.3 km/ h, the number of cars- 11.048 cars per day. Average speed of cars in the first weeks of February on Tbilisi avenue was 36 km/ h, the number of cars- 12.496 cars per day and in the first weeks of May- 45.5 km/h and 16089 cars»,- the report says. Construction of Intellectual Transport Management Center located on Heydar Aliyev avenue in Baku started in April 2009 and the center started operating since 2012. The Center is based on technologies of intellectual management center, providing convenience and safety. "Green wave" effect has been applied in transport system of Baku from April 2012. This principle is based on extension time of green light on consecutively located traffic lights and thus, allows non-stop movement of several intersections by cars. Related news
