Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Since 1 July Azerbaijan is to transfer to fuel standard euro 3.

Chairman of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology & Patents of Azerbaijan Ramiz Hasanov says that the new draft standard is ready and will be approved soon.

"We are planning a phased introduction of the euro-standards for gasoline and diesel fuel in the country, and transition to euro 4 is scheduled for 2015," he said.

According to Hasanov, it is early for Azerbaijan to switch to euro 4, as the country’s refineries cannot still produce fuel on these standards.

"By 2015, the domestic refineries should start using new modern technologies to ensure transition to euro 4," Hasanov said.
