Cargo transit via Azerbaijan reached 45.6% of volume for 2011 in January-May
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Cargo transit through Azerbaijan totaled 7.258 million tons for Jan-May 2012 or 45.6% of the volume for 2011. In 2011 transit reached 15.9 million tons versus 9.45 million tons in 2010, 6.68 million tons in 2009, 6.595 million tons in 2008 and 5.99 million tons in 2007. As a result, last year transit grew 1.681 fold against the 2010 level. Cargo transit reached 1.588 million tons in January, 1.5 million tons for February of 2012 ,1.513 million tons in March, 1.196 million tons in April and 1.455 million tons in May. The State Customs Committee (SCC) informs that for Jan-May 2012 in the course of export and import operations it was transported 24.151 million tons of cargo (-2.55% against the 2011 same term). In 2011 such carriages made up 59.7 million tons of cargo versus 45.6 million tons in 2010. Over Jan-May of the year 13.008 million tons accounted for export against 34.7 million tons in 2011 and 37.7 million tons in 2010, while 3.038 million tons accounted for import versus 9.106 million and 7.9 million respectively. Export by sea for Jan-May 2012 made up 143.553 tons, by rail 1.131 million tons, by road 239.665 tons, by air 108.631 tons, and via pipelines 11.383 million tons. Import included 2.459 million tons by rail, 832.607 tons by road, 553.340 tons by sea, and 10.397 tons by air. Tags: cargo transit Related news
