For Jan-May only 0.2% of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover carried out in national currency

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 June 2012, 0.216% ($14.409 bn) of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover or transactions for $31.133 million was carried out in national currency.

The State Customs Committee reports that for Jan-May 2012 Azerbaijan’s export for $30.909 million (0.29% of entire export) was paid in national currency. At that, only 0.01% of import or $224.053 was paid in Azerbaijani manats.

Freely convertible currency prevails in export and import operations – 91.9% of turnover or $13.242 million. Export for $10.365 bn (96.56% of entire export) and import for $2.8 bn (78.27%) account for FCC.

Last year 0.328% ($36.326 bn) of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover or transactions for $119.25 million was carried out in national currency.

At that, country’s export for $118.34 million (0.45% of entire export) was paid in national currency and import was paid in Azerbaijani manats by 0.01% or $907,160. Export for $25.5 bn (96.03% of entire export) and import for AZN $7.649 bn (78.41%) fell on the share of freely convertible currency.
