Azerbaijan’s head orders to solve issue of employment and joblessness in Baku suburbs
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Yesterday, a conference chaired by President Ilham Aliyev was held on the results of the first year of implementation of the State Program of Social & Economic Development of Baku City & Suburban Towns for 2011-13.
At the conference the President instructed the relevant authorities to resolve the issue of employment and unemployment in the settlements of Baku.
"By allocating extra finances from the State Budget for support of activities of the National Entrepreneurship Support Fund, we directed these finances for opening of jobs in the settlements. Thanks to the fund, there were solved more issues of economic development in the regions. And this is natural, as our goal was the revival of the country’s regions. But the Baku settlements also experience the problem of jobs and unemployment," he said.
According to President Aliyev, starting since this year, a certain portion of the NESF money, particularly about 30-40%, is aimed at creating new businesses in the townships.
"This issue must also be resolved. Settlements should solve not only the problems of roads, gas, electricity and water, but also the issues of unemployment and jobs," the President stressed.
