Due to new KfW loan, program on water supply and sewerage of Ganja and Sheki expands up to 100 million euro
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The German development bank KfW delegation led by Ursula Heister was received by chairman of Azersu (national water operator of Azerbaijan) Gorkhmaz Huseynov. Azersu reports that at the meeting Ms. Heister stated that KfW is developing a credit agreement for the second phase of the "Open Municipal Infrastructure Program" focused on the improvement of water supply and sewerage of the Ganja and Sheki cities. "Ms. Heister announced the presentation of the draft agreement to the government of Azerbaijan. “The II open municipal infrastructure program" will be financed by KfW and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO),” Azersu informed. In turn, the Baku-based KfW representative office reported that the government of Azerbaijan has been already submitted the proposals for the conditions and principles of the new agreement, signing of which is expected before the end of 2012 to avoid an interruption in funding the program. "The Bank’s second credit will increase budget of the II Open Municipal Infrastructure Program up to 100 million euro - 80 million euro from KfW and 20 million euro from the Government of Azerbaijan," the KfW office said. The second KfW loan will total 43 million euro versus 37 million euro on the first loan. "The second phase program concerns the existing water networks and sewer lines of the two cities," the KfW office said. Related news
