Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The growth rate of Azerbaijan’s internal trade turnover (with taking into account services to the population) for the 1st quarter of 2012 exceeded 5.8-fold the rate of growth of country’s real GDP against 99-fold in 2011 and 1.88-fold in 2010. As a result, internal trade turnover made up 41.4% of GDP for the reported term (AZN 25.861 bn) versus 43.49% of GDP (AZN 50.069 bn) in 2011, 44.27% of GDP in 2010 and 46.03% of GDP in 2009.

The State Statistics Committee reports that for as of 1 July 2012 Azerbaijan’s internal trade turnover totaled AZN 10.701 bn ($13.622 bn in accord with exchange rate of AZN 0.7863 to the US dollar by the reported date) and exceeded the 2011 indicator by 8.7%. In 2011 internal trade turnover reached AZN 21.778 bn ($27.69 bn in accord with exchange rate of AZN 0.7865 to the US dollar by the reported date).

In 2010 Azerbaijan’s internal trade turnover totaled AZN 18.404 bn ($23.065 bn with exchange rate of AZN 0.7979 to the US dollar by 1 January 2011). In 2009 Azerbaijan’s internal trade turnover totaled AZN 15.916 bn ($19.819 bn in accord with exchange rate of AZN 0.8031 to the US dollar).

At that, internal trade turnover per capita reached AZN 194.7 a month for the forts half of 2012.

In the 1st half of 2012 retail trade turnover ensured 76.6% of overall turnover and services to the population 23.4%. Retail trade turnover totaled AZN 8.196 bn with growth of 9.2%, while volume of paid services AZN 2.504 bn with rise of 19.4%. Retail trade turnover per capita reached AZN 149 a month and paid services AZN 45.7.

Last year retail trade turnover ensured 75.5% of overall turnover and services to the population 24.5%. Retail trade turnover totaled AZN 16.445 bn with growth of 10.6%, while volume of paid services AZN 5.3 bn with rise of 7.8%. Retail trade turnover per capita reached AZN 151.4 a month and paid services AZN 49.1.

Over 2010 retail trade turnover ensured 70.7% of overall turnover and services to the population 29.3%. Retail trade turnover totaled AZN 13.679 bn with growth of 9%, while volume of paid services AZN 4.7 bn with rise of 10.8%. Retail trade turnover per capita reached AZN 127.6 a month and paid services AZN 44.1.

In 2009 retail trade turnover made up 69.5% of overall turnover and services to the population 30.5%. Retail trade turnover was AZN 11.828 bn with growth of 8.9%, while volume of paid services AZN 4.088 bn with rise of 12.5%. Retail trade turnover per capita reached AZN 111.1 and paid services AZN 38.4.
