Baku, Fineko/abc.az. From late August State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan starts monitoring of compliance with state HALAL standard ( food products meting Shariah requirements) , coming into force since 1 August.
Head of the Committee’s Press Service Fazil Talibli has reported that the monitoring will be conducted in all directions both in production sphere and export and sales.
" Main subject of monitoring will be check of the product’s certificate for HALAL standard and production on the new standard ",- F. Talibli said.
In his words, in case of detection of violations the individuals will be fined for AZN 1.500-2.000 and legal entities –for AZN 4.000-5.000 in accord with legislation.
The Committee approved 3 HALAL standards «HALAL» - AZS 372-2012 «HALAL standards for meat. General requirements to production, transportation,storage and sale»; AZS 386-2012 (CAC/GL 24-2012) «General rules for use of HALAL term»; AZS 731-2012 (OIC/SMIIC1:2011) «HALAL food. General requirements».
