Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Russia’s Federal Customs Service ( FCS) states that Azerbaijan lost its position of serious trade partner.

FCS reports that in the first half of 2012 Azerbaijan’s share in Russia’s foreign trade fell from 0,4% last year to 0,3% in spite of growth of mutual goods turnover by 0,5%.

By 1 July 2012 two way goods turnover made $1.374 bn against $1.367 bn last year. At that Russia succeeded in increase of supplies volume to Azerbaijan from $1.105 bn to $1.125 bn (+1,8%) and decrease of import from Azerbaijan from $261,8 million to $248,8 million (-5%). Import decrease is most likely connected with decrease of purchase volumes of Azeri gas.
