Baku, Fineko/abc.az. State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan has prevented illegal import of iPhone 4S mobile phones through its Khachmaz department.

The SCC reports that the telephones were revealed in the car of Azerbaijani citizen Hasan Huseynov who was trying to import them through Russian-Azerbaijani border.

Earlier Head of  Alma Store company Ramin Musayev reported that according to approximate and unofficial calculations about 3.000 " grey" iPhones are daily imported to the country. As a result people, who purchased blocked phones abroad at a lower price not working in our country, apply to our service centers. The phones can not be restored to service and they have to give back the phone, defray expenses for return of the phone and reapply to us to buy a new one. Import of " grey" mobile phones from China and Dubai harms not only to private business but also the state, as these phones are usually imported without paying any taxes to the state.

Introduction of IMEI registration system of mobile phones code in Azerbaijan is most efficient measure enabling to prevent this process.
