Azerbaijani climber conquers Mount Everest for second time in history
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. An Azerbaijani climber has conquered Mount Everest for the second time in the history.
The Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation (FAA) reports that on 19 May Murad Ashurli, who now lives in the U.S. and a member of the FAA and the American Alpine Club, hoisted the flag of Azerbaijan on Everest.
He became the second Azerbaijani climber, who conquered the highest mountain of the world, after his cousin Israfil Ashurli did it on 19 May 2007. In 2011 Azerbaijani climber Ismail Askerov had to stop at around 8,600 m.
