Baku, Fineko/abc.az. On 23 November,  inauguration ceremony of the office of the VTB Bank OJSC (Azerbaijan) – subsidiary structure of the VTB Bank OJSC, took place in Baku.

CEO of  the VTB Bank OJSC (Azerbaijan) Andrey Kostin said at the opening ceremony the VTB Bank OJSC (Azerbaijan) intends to develop as an universal bank, offering the wide spectrum of bank services.

«At the initial stage the bank will be oriented to service of corporate customers and financing of foreign trade operations.

In future,  it is also planned to develop retail, investment and other directions of business in Azerbaijan,” A. Kostin said.

High industrial and trade potential of Azerbaijan was also noted that does this region attractive for investments.

«The CIS countries is a priority market for VTB group. Entrance  to the Azerbaijani market is a logical step which will enable the VTB group to cover  the most perspective as regards development of markets of the CIS countries,” A. Kostin said.

Let’s remind that  VTB group entered the  Azerbaijani market at the end of 2009. A bank license was issued to the VTB Bank OJSC (Azerbaijan) by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) on March 11, 2009.

Presently, joint-stock capital of the VTB Bank OJSC (Azerbaijan) is shared between the VTB Bank OJSC (51% of shares), the AtaHolding OJSC (48.99%) and an individual (0.01%).
