Azerbaijan exports 18.05 million tons of crude in amount of $6.8 bn in January to August
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. In January to August, 2009, the share of crude in country’s overall export reached 79.73% with decline of 88.65% against Jan-August, 2008. The State Customs Committee (SCC) informs that in January to August, 18.054 million 082.4 tons of crude were exported in the amount of $6.84 bn, including 245,515.8 tons in the amount of $1.15 bn in August versus 2.125 million tons in the amount of $1.035 bn in July, 2.477 million tons in the amount of $1.04 bn in June, 1.786 million tons in the amount of $671,543.2 in May, 2.515 million tons in the amount of $885.472 million in April and 2.738 million to the sum of $875.345 million in March. In January to August, the SOCAR Department of Marketing & Economic Operations exported the whole volume of crude oil, while Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) did not carry out any export. Last year, AIOC did not export in December (as well as in November) versus October export of 6.257 million tons and SOCAR exported 1.594 million tons against 1.307 million tons. By 1st September, 2009, 27.587 bn tons were carried via pipelines (data of controlling and measuring appliances), including 3.5 bn in August, and 815,408.2 tons of oil by rail (110,521.1 tons in August). “1,718,418 tons were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline, 23,108,058.2 tons via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipe and 2,761,207.5 tons via Baku-Supsa pipe,” it was informed. In August, 239,813 tons were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk in August versus 247,835 in July, 170,843 in June, 224,612 in May, 224,473 tons in April, 224,253 tons in March, 219,145 tons in February and 167,444 tons in January 2009), 3.08 million tons via BTC versus 3.178 million tons in July, 3.196 million tons in June, 3.15 million tons, 2.7 million tons, 2.9 million tons, 2.45 million tons и 2.3 million tons respectively 215,899.7 tons via Baku-Supsa versus 314,950, 373,701.5 tons, 373,036.3 tons, 378,304 tons, 382,932.9 tons, 339,569.3 tons and 383,033.8 tons. In August, transportation via railway totaled 110,521.1 versus 132,797.9 tons in July, 10,644.3 tons in June, 169,746 tons in May, 210,748.6 in April, 64,489.5 tons in March, 81,331.2 tons in February and 45,773.9 tons in January. Over 2008, average export price of Azeri oil made $565.67 per ton and in December 2008 the price dropped to $373.89 per ton. In August, 2009, oil was exported at average price of $468.74 per ton and $379.11 per ton in January to August. In January to August, 2009, Azerbaijan’s overall export totaled $8.58 bn. Related news
