Azerbaijan opens next reconstructed road of TRACECA motor segment
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Yesterday President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan participated in the ceremony of opening of highway Ujar-Yevlakh (part of TRACECA motor segment) after its reconstruction. At the ceremony deputy transport minister Musa Panakhov said that the 52.5 km road is part of highway Baku-Alat-Gazakh-state border with Georgia. The road starting from Ujar section of Geychab-Zardab highway runs to Yevlakh. Width of this road’s 44 km two-lane section running through territory of Ujar, Agdash and Yevlakh regions is 15 m and 8 km four-lane section 27.5 m. At the road, reconstruction of which was launched in April 2007, it was erected five bridges two which across the Kura river. 74 gutters were laid along the road. The road project was carried out at the expense of both State Budget and a loan of Fund OPEC (OFID) and Islamic Development Bank. Its overall cost is $69.28 million. Up to date within TRACECA highway network there were commissioned road sections Alat-Hajigabul, Hajigabul-Kurdamir, and Ganja-Gazakh. Construction of highways Kurdamir-Ujar, Yevlakh-Ganja and Gazakh-border with Georgia is underway. Related news
