Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Steering Committee for twinning project on standardization, metrology and patents has conducted this year’s last session.

The State Committee for Standardization, Metrology & Patents of Azerbaijan reports that at the session Sabig Abdullayev, the head of the SCS Department of Technical Regulation & Standardization, told of the process of project realization for the last three months.

According to Abdullayev, together with the European experts they conducted work to prepare a framework project covering infrastructure of quality and research mission in some areas,” Abdullayev said.

Currently the Committee is working over the Bill on Accreditation and prepares additions and amendments to the Law on Provision of Uniformity of Measurements. Discussion of the Bill on Technical Requirements & Conformity Assessment is expected in Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan’s parliament).

Besides, the process of installation of metrological equipment in Azerbaijan is expected to finish in Azerbaijan within the twinning project until 15 April 2010.

Objective of the project realized within European Neighborhood Policy is to bring quality infrastructure system in Azerbaijan in compliance with the European Union’s requirements.
