Baku, Fineko/abc.az. In January to February, investments in Azerbaijani oil sector totaled only 34.4% of all capital investments in country’s economics against 57.5% in January 2010, 27% summarizing the results of 2009, 51.5% in January 2009 (record for last year) and 30.9% following the results of 2008. In February, they totaled 20.6% of all investments.

The Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee (ASSC) informed that in January to February, 2010,  AZN 370 million was invested in oil sector ($462.5 million on average rate AZN 0.8 to the US dollar), and AZN 706.7 million - in non-oil sector.

In January to February, investments in oil sector increased by 43.1%, and in non-oil sector – reduced by 10.9%. Summarizing the results of February , the share of investments in oil sector dropped to 20.6% of all investments for the past month (AZN 675.4 million), while the share of investments in non-oil sector grew to 79.4%.

In January to February, overall investments in extracting sector totaled AZN 368.5  million that is by 43.5% more versus in January to February, 2009. At the same time, total investments in industrial sector made AZN 425.8 million with growth by 13.9%, but only AZN 15.4 million was invested in processing industry (-50.8%).

Investments in power and gas sectors totaled AZN 35.5 million (+37.5%), in water and waste utilization - AZN 6.4 million (-89.32%), in transport, storage industry, and communications AZN 101.6 million (-26.3%), including AZN 101.4 million (-26.4%) in transport and AZN 200,000(+2.6 times) in  postal service and AZN 1.3 million (-41.1%) in communication.

Investments in real estate operations made AZN 60 million (+80.6%), including in housing construction AZN 58.9 million (+78.1%). Having increased by 38.9%, investments in agriculture totaled AZN 43.8 million. Investments in construction sector made 300,000 (-98.3%) and in trade - AZN 33.8 million  (-34.7%).

In January to February, total investments in the economics of the country amounted to AZN 1.076 bn  (+2.4%).
