Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has toughened punishments for cyber crimes and distribution of children porn.

Today when discussing amendments to the Criminal Code , Chairman of Parliamentary Committee for Legal Policy and State Building Ali Huseynli said that these crimes are new notion for Azerbaijan but they still exist.

According to the amendments to Criminal Code of Azerbaijan , penalties for illegal penetration to computer system, falsification of documents, turnover of the means made for cyber crime commitment, falsification of computer information are set at AZN 1.000-2.000 with deprivation of the right for occupying certain posts or imprisonment for up to 2 years.

If these actions are committed by the official with abuse of official position, he is imposed a penalty for AZN 2.000-3.000 with deprivation of the right for occupying certain posts or imprisonment for up to 2-4 years. If these actions are committed in respect of computer system of socially important site or its part , the violator will be deprived of liberty for 4-6 years and of the right to occupy certain posts for 3 years.

The amendments set penalty for AZN 8.000-10.000 or imprisonment for up to 5 years for creation of conditions for children porn distribution, its advertisement, sale, transference, forwarding and proposing to another person, making with advertisement purpose, purchase or storage. If these actions are committed by a group of previously agreed persons , organized group or criminal group , as well as the persons wishing to get profit, parents of the underage children or the people responsible for their upbringing they are imprisoned for 5-8 year period.

If these actions are committed by the person maintaining control over the underage children, or teacher of educational, nurturing, medical or other establishment , these people are deprived of the right to occupy certain post or engage in certain activity for 3 years along with imprisonment.
