Azerbaijan’s exchange currency trading on US dollar totaled $940 million in 2012

Baku, Fineko/ The Baku Interbank Stock Exchange (BBVB) has renewed statistics of its operations.

BBVB reports that in December 2012 the 13 participating banks concluded 33 deals in 44 trading sessions in e-trading system (BEST). The total volume of trading in currency auctions for the reported month on USD/AZN totaled AZN 67.7 million or $81.2 million.

In December the volume of trading in the currency section increased by 3% or AZN 1.927 million against November 2012.

The average daily turnover in exchange e-trading system on USD/AZN in December reached approximately $3.69 million, while the average amount of each transaction reached $2.46 million.

Exchange rate of national currency on tool USD/AZN_TOD for the reported month decreased by 0.23% – from AZN 0.7838 up to AZN 0.7856 to the US dollar. At that, weighted average rate of U.S. dollar to manat was AZN 0.7846 to the US dollar in December 2012 against AZN 0.7846 in November.

In 2012 the total volume of electronic trading with foreign currencies at BBVB reached AZN 738.149 million. The total volume of trading on the U.S. dollar in BEST reached AZN 737.837 million ($940 million).

Trading volume on tool EUR/AZN in 2012 amounted to AZN 312,000 (EUR 300,000). Last year it was conducted 486 trading sessions in BEST, which involved 20 banks.
