Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is approaching to full paying off of the state privatization cheques issued in 1997 for privatization of mid- and large-sized state-owned enterprises.

Chairman of the State Committee for Property Affairs Kerem Hasanov said up today it has been paid of over 75% of privatization cheques within privatization process.

“Till the end of 2009 we’ll try to withdraw more than 80% of privatization cheques from turnover. As we all know, since validity period of the cheques had been extended, the President of Azerbaijan signed the decree, according to which we will try to withdraw them from turnover,” Hasanov said.

Population was given 32 million privatization cheques for participation in privatization process.
