Azerbaijan discusses special opinion on European Convention on Cyber-Crime

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Domestic governmental agencies are to conduct debates of the matter of Azerbaijan’s acceding to the European Convention on Cyber-Crime.

The Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies informed that in connection with the initiative on acceding to the Convention the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a list of proposals, including recommendations and provisos to it.

“In the next few days the MCIT is to hold a session with participation of relevant bodies’ representatives to discuss the list,” it was reported.

The Council of Europe Convention on Cyber-Crime was passed in Budapest, Hungary, in November 2001. The Convention sets a goal of rapprochement of national computer crime legislations differing in various countries.
