Baku, Fineko/abc.az. National energy producer of Azerbaijan Azerenerji OJSC increased volume of electricity generation this October.

For Jan-Oct 2009 Azerenerji system generated 71.7% of last year’s overall power generation.

Azerenerji’s press service citing the Central Dispatcher Control Office reports that it was generated 1.3 kWh of electricity in October versus 1.2 kWh in September, 1.3 kWh in August, 1.4 bn kWh of electricity in July, 1.3 bn kWh of electricity in June, 1.4 bn kWh in May, 1.6 bn kWh in April, 1.9 bn kWh in March, 1.8 bn kWh in February, and 2.1 bn kWh in January of 2009.

In October 1.1 bn kWh of electricity was generated by thermal power stations (TPSs) and 200 million kWh by hydroelectric power stations (HEPSs). A month before TPSs generated 1 bn kWh of electricity and HEPSs 200 million kWh.

“For Jan-Oct of the year power generation made 15.2 bn kWh, including 13.5 bn kWh by TPSs and 1.7 bn kWh by HEPSs,” it was informed.

For comparison: in 2008 country’s energy system generated 21.2 bn kWh of electricity, including 19 bn by TPSs and 2.2 bn kWh by HEPSs.
