Baku, Fineko/abc.az. A business forum on environment purification technologies from Germany has started in Baku today.

At the Forum opening a representative of the Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources of Azerbaijan informed that over the last few years Germany and Azerbaijan formed mutually profitable rational relationships in the area of environment purification.

“Along with that the country is ongoing its ecological improvement and tackles in particular problems with drinking water provision in regions of Azerbaijan and upgrades sewage system,” he emphasized.

Azer Aliyev, the head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan’s Environmental Department, pointed out that 2010 was announced the year of ecology in Azerbaijan and a range of large eco-projects would be implemented in this connection.

The key project is an oil-polluted land clean-up project on the territory of Bibiheybat oilfield and planting of trees,” he said.

The event was arranged by the Azerbaijan-Germany Economic Association (DAWF) with support of Germany’s BAMAG.
