Azerbaijani government strives to create conditions for non-state pension funds
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijani government did not decline from the idea of creation of non-state pension funds in the country. Samir Sharifov, the finance minister of Azerbaijan, claimed in Parliament that there is a desire to create conditions for activities of non-state pension funds. “But that demands development of the stock market, and the government takes measures aimed at developing state securities market,” Sharifov said. AZN 1.049 bn out of AZN 1.249 bn of record budget deficit planned for 2010 will be covered at the expense of internal and foreign debt. “Besides, AZN 300-400 million of State Budget’s additional revenues can be received due to economy of this year’s budget finances (usually the saving figure makes up 3-4%) and extra revenues from oil export,” Sharifov said.
