Azerbaijan offered to sever relations with Turkey and abandon BTC and Nabucco in response to Turkish-Armenian agreements

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The People’s Socialist Party of Azerbaijan (PSPA) delivered speech with statement in connection with signing of Turkish-Armenian protocols (Protocol on Establishment of Diplomatic Relations and Protocol on Development of Bilateral Relations) in Zurich on October, 10.

It was  said in the  statement that opening of the Turkish-Armenian borders today in the conditions of proceeding occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia causes direct damage to national and state interests of Azerbaijan, contradicts with  traditional relations of friendship and cooperation  between Azerbaijan and Turkey and promotes additionally aggressive ambitions of Armenia, focused to annexation of Azerbaijani lands.

“In formed anxious situation, PSPA offers to the Azerbaijani parliament to consider without delay the issue concerning signing of Turkish-Armenian protocols as regards their danger for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan till discussion of the issue on ratification of the protocols in the Turkish  parliament.

PSPA also offers to the Azerbaijani leadership to recall temporally Azerbaijani Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkey for consultations. In prospect, if Turkish-Armenian protocols to be ratified by Turkey and national interests of Azerbaijan will not be taken into account, PSPA will insist on suspension of diplomatic, political and economic relations of Azerbaijan with Turkey and limiting by Azerbaijan of its participation in power projects with the country, including oil pipeline BTC and economically groundless Nabucco gas pipeline,” it was said in the statement.
