Caspian Shipping Company’s fleet replenished with new tanker to carry Kazakh oil

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participated yesterday in the ceremony of launching Shusha tanker.

The tanker was fabricated at Krasnoye Sormovo ship-building factory located in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia). It will be used mainly for shipping Kazakh oil to Sangachal terminal for export via pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan named after Heydar Aliyev. The vessel allows transportation of simultaneously some types of oil and petroleum products and was engineered on design of tanker President Heydar Aliyev.

Azerbaijan’s State Caspian Shipping Company (Kaspar) is numbering already more than six such tankers.  Carrying capacity of Shusha tanker is 13,000 tons. Its length is 150 m, width 17.3 m, draught 7.14 m. This tanker has become the 80th in Kaspar’s fleet including 43 tankers and 37 dry-cargo ships.
