Baku, Fineko/abc.az. This February Azerbaijan’s gross domestic product (GDP) made up only 90.8% of this January’s indicator.

The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan (SSCA) informs that for Jan-Feb 2010 country’s GDP totaled AZN 6.128 bn or $7.66 bn in accord with average exchange rate for the reported period AZN 0.8 for 1 US dollar that in comparable prices by 5.6% is more than volumes of GDP for Jan-Feb 2009 (AZN 4.205 bn). This February GDP was AZN 2.916 million versus AZN 3.2 million a month earlier.

At the same time, nominal GDP on an annualized basis increased by 45.7% for Jan-Feb 2010.

Under government’s forecast for 2010, GDP is expected to make AZN 31.825 bn with growth of 6.8% and for Jan-Feb actual volume of GDP totaled 19.25% of the forecast for 2010 and growth rate by 1.2% less.

For comparison: in December 2009 manufacture of added value made AZN 4.92 bn that is the best monthly index in 2009. In 2009, volume of Azerbaijani GDP for the reported period was AZN 0.8 to the US dollar that is in comparable prices by 9.3% is more than GDP in 2008 (AZN  40.137 bn). In 2009 country’s nominal GDP reduced by 13.85% against 2008.

For Jan-Feb 2010 GDP per capita totaled AZN 689.6 million ($858.5) that is by 4.4% more than the index for the 2009 same term.

This February the indicator rose by AZN 327.9 ($408.2).

Last year this index was AZN 3.917 bn ($4.87) that is more by 7.9% than the 2008 index. In December 2009 index added AZN 556.6 ($693.1).

For Jan-Feb 2010 index of deflator of Azerbaijani GDP made +37.9% versus -33,1% for Jan-Feb 2009 and for entire 2009 it totaled -21.2% against +27.8% in 2008.

For Jan-Feb 2010 added value in manufacture made AZN 3.697 bn (60.3% of GDP), in agriculture AZN 94.1 bn (1.6%), construction AZN 336.2 million (5.5%), transport AZN 379.7 million (6.2%), communications AZN 104.8 million (1.7%), wholesale and retail trade AZN 437.1 million (7.1%), social services AZN 588.1 million (9.6%).

The share of production sector in GDP structure was 67.4% (AZN 4.128 bn) with added value growth by 6.1%, the share of services 25.7% (AZN 1.577 million) with added value rise of 5.2% and net production and import taxes -  6.9% (AZN 422.5 million) with rise by 4.1%.
