Living space commissioning in Azerbaijan fell by 9.2% this February
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. This February housing commissioning in Azerbaijan lowered by 9.2% compared to January, but for the first two months of 2010 its year-on-year growth made up 19.5%. The Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee (ASSC) informs that in February it was commissioned 74,000 sq m of housing versus 81,500 sq m in January of 2010, 220,900 sq m in December 2009 (last year’s best monthly index), 297,000 sq m in December 2008 ( the record for 2008) and 319,100 sq m in December 2007 (absolutely record index for month). This February it was commissioned 66,600 sq m of living space. “For Jan-Feb 2010 it was commissioned 155,500 sq m of housing that is by 19.5% more against the 2009 same term’s figure (130,100 sq m),” the Committee reported. Housing commissioning totaled 1.36 million sq m in 2009, 1.556 million sq m in 2008, 1.425 million sq m in 2007, 1.218 million sq m in 2006, and 1.58 million sq m in 2005. For Jan-Feb 2010 investments in country’s housing construction made AZN 58.9 million ($73.625 million) that is by 78.1% more versus the Jan-Feb 2009 index. And investments per square metre of housing for this period totaled AZN 378.78 or $473.47. This February investments made AZN 36.3 million or AZN 490.54 ($613.18) per square metre. In 2009 investments in housing construction reached AZN 644.8 million ($806 million) that is by 2.7% less against 2008. Investments per square metre of housing totaled AZN 472.97 or $591.21. In 2008, it was invested AZN 664.5 million ($810.366 million) in housing construction that is by 28.6% more against 2007. Investments per square metre of housing totaled AZN 426.81 or $520.5. In 2007, housing construction investments reached AZN 423.6 million ($498.35 million) that is by 3.1% more against the 2006 figure.
