Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan Educational Network (AEN) has got into the final of contest Cisco Networkers Awards 2010.

Cisco’s manager for Central Asia system engineers Rovshan Akbarov says that in the final Azerbaijan will compete with projects Kuwait Information Network and Jordan National Wideband Network.

“The contest whose winners will be known in Bahrain on 29 March is conducted for Cisco partner countries with developing markets. AEN project realized by Cisco partners AzEduNet and Ultra was nominated for award Society Impacting Network,” Akbarov said.

AzEduNet realizes AEN project within the framework of the State Program on Education System Computerization 2008-12. The project includes high-speed corporate intranet page uniting country’s schools and universities and Ministry of Education’s organizations. The network offers for educational institutions high-speed access to electronic educational resources and management systems placed in the MoE Information & Resource Centre and access to Internet.
