Former ADB president during service term of whom Azerbaijan became ADB member has passed away
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Mr. Tadao Chino, former president of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), passed away in Tokyo, Japan, Thursday at the age of 74.
Within period of his service as ADB president Azerbaijan became an ADB member on December 30, 1999.
He served as ADB president from 1999 to 2005.
The ADB stresses Mr. Chino’s role in the replenishment of the Asian Development Fund (ADF VIII) and organization of ADF IX, adoption of the institution’s private sector development strategy in 2000, and the reorganization of ADB in 2002.
