Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The share of crude oil in country’s overall export for Jan-July 2009 reached 79.68% with decline of 82.51% against Jan-July 2008.

The State Customs Committee informs that 15.598 bn tons of crude oil were exported for $5.69 bn for Jan-July, including 2.125 bn tons for $1.04 bn in June, 1.786 million tons for $671.5 million in May, 2.515 million tons for $885.47 million in April and 2.738 million for $875.345 million in March.

For the reported period the SOCAR Department of Marketing & Economic Operations exported the whole volume of crude oil, while Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) did not carry out any export.

Last year AIOC did not export in December (as well as in November) versus October export of 6.257 million tons and SOCAR exported 1.594 million tons against 1.307 million tons.

By 1st August 2009, 24.04 bn tons were carried via pipelines (data of controlling and measuring appliances), including 3.74 bn in July, and 704.887 million tons of oil by rail.

“1.478 bn tons were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline,

20.019 bn tons via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipe, and 2.545 bn tons via Baku-Supsa pipe,” the Committee said.

In July 247,835 tons were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk, versus 170,843 in June, 224,612 in May, 224,473 tons in April, 224,253 tons in March, 219,145 tons in February and 167,444 tons in January 2009), 3.196 million tons via BTC (versus 2.77 million, 2.9 million tons, 2.45 million tons and 2.34 million tons respectively), 314,950 tons via Baku-Supsa (versus 373,701.5 tons, 373,036.3 tons, 378,304 tons, 382,932.9 tons, 339,569.3 tons and 383,033.8 tons). Railway carriages in July 132,797.9 tons,  in June reached 10,644.3 tons against 169,746 tons in May, 210,748.6 in April, 64,489.5 tons in March, 81,331.2 tons in February and 45,773.9 tons in January.

For 2008 average export price of Azeri oil made $565.67 per ton and in December 2008 the price dropped to $373.89 per ton.

For July 2009 oil was exported for the average price of $487.28 per ton and for Jan-July period – 364.8.

Azerbaijan’s overall export for Jan-July 2009 totaled $7.14 bn.
