Creation of investment fund has not received support of TRACECA member states
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Prospects of a project of investment fund of TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) that have been under discussion for the past couple of years are still quite foggy. Akif Mustafayev, Azerbaijan’s national coordinator in TRACECA said that necessary consensus on the investment fund proposal has not been achieved. “But consideration of this project is still under way and it cannot be considered refuted,” Mustafayev said. For its approval the project should supported by all the 12 TRACECA member countries. The TRACECA Multilateral Agreement was signed in Baku in 1998 and composes Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Armenia. Since then cargo flow via TRACECA route has doubled and its further growth is expected in connection with Trans-Caspian supplies of Kazakh oil. Related news
