State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan claims it did not change regime of currency operations

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan has stated it cannot be blamed for possible shortage of foreign currency in exchange offices.

In its statement the Fund says it conducts currency operations in previous regime.

Nevertheless, officials of domestic banks’ exchange offices accuse precisely the SOFAZ of lack of US dollars. According to their version, the Fund has ceased currency exchange since yesterday and lately foreign currency flowed to the market precisely at the expense of its finances. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has not expressed its position on the occasion.
