Baku, Fineko/abc.az. On December 28, the 2nd meeting of the  Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC) was held in Baku.

According to ATUC Chairman Sattar Mekhbaliyev, 10 new trade unions have already entered into ATUC within the framework of pilot project on establishment of trade unions in the small and medium-sized enterprises.  Over four 4 years 451 new trade unions were created, including 200 unions with 17,000 members in 2009. Nine trade unions were established in the oil companies during 2 years.

As a result, today trade unions were founded in 3,462 foreign, joint and private enterprises and unite 143,532 members. 68,144 trade unions with 236,220 members function in the country in all.
