Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (AMEA) has released for the first time encyclopaedia “Minerals of Azerbaijan”.

The Institute’s press service informs that the issue presents information about quite a broad range of mineral species, their genetic interpretation and a possibility of economic estimate for rational use of mineral resources.

The edition’s authors are Institute’s director and academic  Akif Alizadeh, Baku State University department head and Doctor of Geologic & Mineralogical Sciences Mammad Chiragov, leading scientific worker of the Institute of Geology and Candidate of Geologic & Mineralogical Sciences Solmaz Veizadeh and official   of the Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources and Candidate of Geologic & Mineralogical Sciences Huseyn Veliyev,” it was reported.

The encyclopaedia gives thorough data in Azeri, Russian and English languages about such rich natural resources of Azerbaijan as virgin metals, mnative non-metals and other minerals. Information gathered on the basis of samples of minerals are results of surveys conducted for many years by Azerbaijani geologists.
