Equinor sells its assets in Russia for 1 euro

September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Norway’s oil & gas company Equinor has sold its assets in Russia to Rosneft for 1 euro. In return, the Russian company must fulfill its investment commitment of $1 bn.

ABC.AZ reports that the company announced that it has fulfilled all obligations.

In the 1st quarter of 2022, the book value of Equinor assets in Russia was estimated at $1.1 bn.

The Norwegian oil & gas company withdrew from its four joint ventures in Russia at the end of May 2022. In order to be released from its obligations, the company transferred its share to Rosneft.
