Foreign direct investments increased for first 6 months

September 19, Fineko/abc.az. Foreign direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy for Jan-Jun 2022 amounted to $3.2 bn.

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan informs that for Jan-Jun 2021 the FDIs in our country’s economy amounted to $2.635 bn. Thus, in the 1st half of 2022, FDIs grew by 22.2%.

At that, in the 1st quarter of 2022 the FDIs amounted to $1.814 bn, in the 2nd quarter - $1.406 bn.

According to the balance of payments data for Jan-Jun 2022, 65.9% (for the 1st half of 2021 – 82.8%) of FDIs were made in the oil & gas sector.

In the nonoil sector, the FDIs amounted to $1.97 bn (a rise of 2.4-fold), the share – 34.1% (in the 1st half of 2021 - 17.2%).
