Turkiye’s imports exceeds export – purchases of goods from abroad increased

October 4, Fineko/abc.az. In the period from January to September 2022, Turkiye's exports increased by 17.1% to $188.2 bn and imports by 40.8% to $272.04 bn, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Turkish Ministry of Trade.

Turkiye’s foreign trade deficit grew by 158.5%, reaching $83.8 bn.

The top list of the countries to which Turkiye exported most of all goods in September: exports to Germany for $2.2 bn (a rise of 18.2%), to the U.S. for $1.378 bn (decline of 0.7%), and to Iraq for$1.28 million (rise of 24.3%).

The countries from which Turkey imported most of all in September: imports from Russia for $6.926 million (rise of 186.7%), from China for $3.706 bn (a rise of 28%), from Switzerland for $2.179 bn (a rise of 764.2%).
